Are you interested in exploring OER (Open Education Resources)? Maybe you’ve heard of it but don’t know much about open resources. Odds are you are already using some type of open resource in your course without realizing it, or calling it that. Check out the OER at Kirkwood blog to find out more!

Hi, Kate & Nicole,
I’ll be transitioning my LIT 207 Forms of Lit: Poetry class from Angel into whatever new LMS Kirkwood decides on, and I want to rebuild it from the ground up. I’m wondering if OER resources are available that might help me eliminate a textbook. Currently I use a custom text, *Literature Craft & Voice*, Delbanco & Cheuse (a copy of which should be on Reserve in the CR library) and I supplement it extensively with audio and video from a variety of websites.
My initial forays into open resources for teaching poetry as literature haven’t turned up very much, and I’m wondering if you might provide me with some suggestions. As an aside, if this goes well, I might like to shift my creative writing classes (poetry and multigenre) to open resources as well. What do you think?
All good wishes, Marianne
