In honor of Independence Day, Kirkwood Library Services will be closed July, 3rd, 4th, and 5th at both branches, but we’ll open again for normal summer hours starting July 6th. We’ll only be closed the one weekday.

In the meantime, check out the Freedom Festival events and consider participating in the national wide movement to read the Declaration of Independence on July 4th.

With construction going on in the Cedar Rapids library location, our hours are different this summer.

This week the Cedar Rapids branch of the Kirkwood Community College library will stay open until 10:00pm M-Th instead of 9:00pm. Got something to print? A task to accomplish? Need a computer? We’re here for you. The Iowa City branch will maintain normal hours.

This year BOTH the Cedar Rapids branch and the Iowa City branch of Kirkwood’s Library Services will have the same hours over break.

Once again we’re almost to a holiday again. As always this means we have slight change in our regular hours. Also as you’ll hopefully seen we have changed our regular hours for this semester only.

Normal Hours This Semester Only

Iowa City should be keeping their regular hours except for being online only on Saturday.

Both Kirkwood Community College Library Services locations are open to the public again. You can still reach us online, but during the day:

Monday – Thursday: 8am – 5pm

Friday: 8am – 12pm

We’ll still be available online to help in the evenings.

Note: Hours will change as we move into the new semester of classes.

Between semesters there are going to be different library hours. The hours as listed in the chart below are for the Cedar Rapids campus.

The Iowa City campus will continue with their regular 8 am – 8 pm hours Monday through Thursday, and will be open 8 am – 5 pm on Friday. Iowa City will be also be closed Saturdays, August 17th and August 24th.

Both locations will resume normal fall hours on Monday, August 26th.

Both branches of the Kirkwood Community College Library will have special hours over Spring Break. Please check that we are open before you make a special trip. Our article databases and eBook collections will remain available online 24/7.

The hours below are for the Cedar Rapids branch. The Iowa City branch also will be open 8-5 M-F over spring break. They will be open their normal hours Sat., March 15th, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm, but closed Sat., March 23, 2018.

Snow Storm and the Rest of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend

Due to the storm both the Kirkwood Community College libraries will be closed Saturday, January 18th at both locations.

Since MLK Day fell a little differently this year, our hours are different. At this point these are the hours for the rest of the weekend. In Cedar Rapids we’re going to be open normal hours Sunday. We will have reduced hours on Mon., Jan., 21, 2019 with the library opening after the college program and closing at 5pm.
