Are you tired of your students writing papers citing Wikipedia OR other commercial websites? Did you know that your librarians can create a customized guide of online resources for your students? If you’ve ever wondered about the many services the Kirkwood library has to offer faculty, then come to the KCELT class, Library services for you! Please join me on Tuesday, September 29th at 11:15AM or Wednesday, October 7th at 2:25PM in the KCELT MALI room to learn about your Kirkwood library.

This one hour session will be based on the needs of the faculty participating, but may include the topics above as well as such topics as:

• How to set up an account and request an Interlibrary loan from libraries throughout the United States
• How to put a textbook or other resource on reserve at the circulation desk for your students
• How to find the databases the library subscribes to in your subject area and how to use them to find valuable resources
• How to find a book, e-book, article or video using the library catalog
• How to request a personalized instructional session for your classes
• How to request a resource be purchased by the library
• How to find videos and use them for classroom instruction through the library’s new database, Kanopy, or Kirkwood’s Video on Demand Service (VOD)

I hope I’ve piqued your interest and you will register for the KCELT class at http://www.kirkwood.edu/kcelt.

If you cannot make one of these sessions, but have questions, please contact me at: sue.miller@kirkwood.edu
