Blind Date With a Book

This year the Kirkwood Community College Library in Cedar Rapids is joining the new library trend for a special Valentine’s display called “Blind Date With a Book.” The idea is to help you spread your reading wings by trying something that you wouldn’t normally choose. To that end books are wrapped up so can’t see the title or author and put on display. Each book is labeled with it’s category, Fiction, Non-Fiction, or Graphic Novel and offers a pick up line. Some match the book, some are just general encouragement. Be Brave! Pick one up!

If you want to participate, grab a wrapped book off the display and check it out. When you open it up you will find tucked in the pages a drawing slip, fill it out and drop it off at the reference desk next time you’re in the library for a prize drawing. There are no limits on the times you can enter, but you have to check out the book first. The display will be up through February 15th and drawing slips must be turned in by the 15th to be included in the drawing.
