It’s that time again! All Kirkwood students, staff and faculty are invited to submit a poem or 2 for the Iowa City Campus Annual Poetry Contest. The contest is in its 12th year, and we’ve seen some great student poets in that time. On the poetry contest’s website you can see the winning poems from the last 2 years, some links to explore poetry, poets and resources for poets, as well as the form for submitting your own poetry for the contest. Have your poems submitted by 5pm on Thursday April 4th.

In addition to the contest, the Iowa City Campus also hosts an open poetry reading. Bring a poem of your own or a favorite poem to share. We will also announce the winners of the poetry contest at this celebratory event. This year’s reading will take place on Thursday April 11th at 11:00am in the Iowa City Campus Student Commons. All are welcome!
