It’s never easy nor clear what you can and can’t use when it comes to copyright in education. Your Kirkwood librarians have compiled resources for you, as well as the Kirkwood policy on copyright. The newest additions to our resources are the useful tools from the University of Minnesota Libraries.

First is their ‘Can I use it? A map of use issues‘ graphic (also see below), as well as their ‘Thinking Through Fair Use‘ tool. The latter will help faculty think through fair use, then give you a report to print out (or email yourself) for your records.
